KarriBindi is a family owned and operated vineyard with 32 hectares of grapes under vine. It is located in Karridale which is close to Cape Leeuwin, the most south westerly point in Australia ,and has direct views of the Leeuwin ridge and the magnificent Karri forests of Boranup.
KarriBindi is blessed with beautiful Karri Loam soils and a temperate maritime climate which is ideal for wine grape varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Chardonnay and Shiraz.
Our aim at KarriBindi is to be known and respected for producing premium quality wine grapes. We have been doing this consistently since the mid 1990’s. Now our objective is to produce limited quantities of premium fine wines. We have been pursuing this with great passion since 2005.
Many people ask us about our name, KarriBindi. Well…..
Karri is derived from our location of Karridale and the abundant Karri forests surrounding the area.
Bindi is derived from Bindi Bindi, the home town of one member of the KarriBindi family.
We also understand Karri and Bindi to be Nyoongar words in origin:
Karri; meaning strong, special; spiritual; tall tree.
Bindi: meaning butterfly.
You may notice the influence of these Nyoongar meanings in the design of our labels. The KarriBindi butterfly soaring through the Karri trees.
